2008 AIIM survey reveals downturn in email archiving confidence in Ireland
SourceWire, September 15, 2008
According to an Irish User Survey, it looks like Americans aren’t the only ones struggling with email archiving. Recent research conducted by AIIM found that 44 percent of Irish respondents have little or no confidence that their emails are “recorded, complete and recoverable,” with 15 percent estimating it would take more than one month to produce electronic information for any given legal case.
So what gives? According to Doug Miles, AIIM’s UK Managing Director, these results could be the results of a variety of factors.
“These results indicate that investment in document and email management systems is failing to keep pace with the email deluge,” he said. “It also suggests that recent high profile cases may have alerted organizations to their potential vulnerabilities.”
If you take the time to read the complete survey results, you’ll likely notice quite a few similarities between Americans and our Irish counterparts when it comes to electronic archiving. AIIM’s survey results confirms – as we have seen http://www.surety.com/news/article/061708_new_reseller_partnership_in_korea/ and http://www.surety.com/news/article/surety_continues_international_momentum_with_samsung_sds_reseller_partnersh/ – that electronic records management is a global issue.
